Pixel with Superpowers: Modern Android UI with AGSL Shaders
Modern Android UI is powerful and flexible, but visually most apps still look the same. AGSL (Android Graphics Shading Language) allows us to go beyond standard components and create custom, GPU powered visual effects directly in our UI.
In this session, I will explain what AGSL is, how it works, and how it fits into the Android rendering pipeline. We will build a real example step by step and break it down in a simple and visual way.
The focus is on practical usage. You will learn how to use shaders safely in Jetpack Compose, how to thing about performance and how to decide when a shader actually makes sense in a production app.
