Beyond the Copilot: A Blueprint for Autonomous Mobile Reliability

Abstract: For years, mobile engineering teams have paid a "Quality Tax"—spending more time firefighting crashes and performance regressions than building new features. While AI "Copilots" have begun to offer suggestions, the "Action Gap" between seeing an insight and deploying a fix remains a manual, high-pressure hurdle. This session introduces a vision for the journey from Insight to Autonomy. Drawing on the evolution of Luciq’s agentic platform, we explore how intelligent agents can move from providing guided recommendations (Copilot) to taking reliable, autonomous action (Autopilot). We will discuss the architectural necessity of building a "Trust-Based Agency"—where AI acts only when it reaches a specific confidence threshold and provides full transparency to the developer. Key Discussion Points: - Eliminating the Quality Tax: How to move away from fragmented "Smart Insights" toward a unified agent that understands the full application lifecycle. - The Copilot vs. Autopilot Framework: A breakdown of when AI should guide a human (Pre-code access) versus when it should act on their behalf (Self-healing). - The Trust Engine: How to use confidence scores and "Safety Rails" to allow teams to gradually hand over low-risk triage and resolution to an agent. - The New Developer Experience: Why the future of mobile work isn't about "watching things break," but about supervising the autonomous systems that fix them.
