When building an app for KMP, Kotlin provides powerful features and tooling to enhance the developer experience. But sometimes it is necessary to go beyond what Kotlin offers. In this talk, we will cover the process of using the Rust programming language as the core of an Android app, as well as the reasons why you might want to do this. We will also go over some of the speed bumps we encountered along the way while bridging Rust to iOS and Android using Kotlin Multplatform. No prior experience with Rust is necessary.
